First off, I recently started a job at Bordine's Nursery where I water plants for hours and hours everyday. Not the best job, not the worst job. But I'm convinced either they love me or they're trying to kill me. When I was hired I was told I'd be working five days a week and eight hours a day (7:30 AM-4:00 PM including a half hour unpaid lunch break). I was fine with that, because I told them I'm available everyday and that I want to make as much money as possible, plus a 40-hour work week was exactly what I was looking for with a summer job. However, next thing I know they want me to work six days a week and start earlier (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM including a half hour unpaid lunch break).
So, I was up to a 48 hour week, which is fine because everything over 40 hours is overtime (pay and a half) and I love me some money. However, now I've been assigned to a special "New Retail Watering Task-Force." So, I'm working six days now from 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM OR UNTIL SHIPPING IS DONE which means I could be working up to 11 hours a day. So my work week is now 51 hours at minimum. Believe me I'm not complaining about it, but I'm not exactly thrilled either. I'll be making good money BUT...
I'm also in the process of moving and the apartment I'm moving out of is an hour away from this new job (which is near my mother's house where I'm living for the Summer). Now I'm sure that everyone who has moved knows how much of a hassle it is and I have to do most of it on the one day I have off a week.
When I'm not working or moving, my roommate for the Fall and I have to find a new apartment to reserve so I have a place to live when it is time for me to move BACK down for school. We want to do this as soon as possible so that we don't miss out on anything good and get stuck with something we don't really like.
Then, when I'm not doing any of that, I'm preparing for my trip to Ghana! I'm going to Chicago for a day on Memorial Day (May 27th) and then the flight leaves the next day (May 28th) out of O'Hare. So, I have to be out of my apartment completely before then since my lease is up May 31st.
